Welcome to The Hairoun Day Centre

The Hairoun Day Centre is a warm, inclusive space dedicated to supporting elderly people from all backgrounds in High Wycombe and surrounding areas. Rooted in Caribbean heritage but proudly provide services a genuinely multi cultural clientel.

We we offer a friendly environment where all older adults, regardless of ethnicity can socialise, stay active, and feel valued.

Our services focus on reducing isolation, encouraging physical and mental wellbeing, and celebrating cultural diversity through shared meals, activities, and community outings. Whether you’re looking for companionship, stimulation, or simply a safe place to spend the day, Hairoun is here for you.

About The Hairoun

The Hairoun Day Centre is a community-based organisation in High Wycombe dedicated to enhancing the lives of older adults—especially those from Caribbean, African, South Asian, mixed heritage, and other underrepresented backgrounds.

Founded with roots in the Caribbean community, Hairoun has grown into a welcoming, inclusive space where elderly people from all cultures can come together for companionship, support, and wellbeing. We understand that ageing can bring challenges—loneliness, reduced mobility, health issues—and we’re here to make that journey easier, warmer, and more connected.

At Hairoun, we offer:

Our dedicated team—many of whom have lived experience of the communities we serve—work closely with volunteers, carers, and local partners to ensure that our elders are not forgotten, but celebrated, respected, and cared for.

We don’t just run a day centre. We build community. We honour heritage. And we support older people to live with dignity, independence, and connection.

Our History

A Warm welcome

For everyone in the community

The centre is purpose built and has facilities to cater for most needs. Our staff organise group activities for those who want to join in. We have our own fully adapted minibus that safely takes our clients to and from home. We provide freshly cooked daily meals prepared by our own chef. We provide advocacy services on behalf of our clients liaising with government agencies and medical professionals.

Fundraising

Wycombe Community Choir

Fundraising event organised by the Wycombe Community Choir raised £700.00 for The Hairoun Day Centre. A special thanks to the choir leaders, Marcia, Diane and Maxine who worked hard to make this a success.

We need your support

The Hairoun Older Adults Day Centre has become a vital lifeline for many of the older adults within the community. However as a charity, we rely on the benevolence of our community and others to fund the centre.
